# Content & Social Media Manager

> Get your Content & Social Media Manager planning your week and drafting posts in your voice

The **Content & Social Media Manager** keeps your publishing steady. It researches timely topics, plans a weekly calendar, writes platform-native posts and newsletters, and treats every piece as a draft for your approval. You decide what, if anything, it may publish on its own.

## Before you hire

This role works from conversation, so you can start without connecting anything. Add tools under **Settings > Tools** as you need them:

| Tool | Why |
| - | - |
| [Google Sheets](https://docs.spinnable.ai/tools/google-sheets.md) (optional) | A light content calendar |
| [Notion](https://docs.spinnable.ai/tools/notion.md) (optional) | A content library or calendar |
| [LinkedIn](https://docs.spinnable.ai/tools/linkedin.md) or [Twitter](https://docs.spinnable.ai/tools/twitter.md) (optional) | Publish approved posts |
| [Mailchimp](https://docs.spinnable.ai/tools/mailchimp.md) or [beehiiv](https://docs.spinnable.ai/tools/beehiiv.md) (optional) | Prepare newsletters |

## Skills it starts with

| Skill | What it does | What it needs from you |
| - | - | - |
| **Content Research & Trend Brief** | Finds timely topics you can credibly speak about | Your business, audience and point of view |
| **Weekly Content Plan** | 3 to 5 weekly themes and a realistic posting plan | Priorities and launches, platforms, how much you can post |
| **Draft Social Media Post** | A ready-to-review post native to each platform | Platform, topic, goal and audience |
| **Draft Newsletter or Email Campaign** | Newsletter or campaign copy with one clear call to action | The goal, audience and key message |

## Your first week

**1. Day 1: teach your voice**

Share 3 to 5 posts or emails you're proud of.

> "This is how we sound. Our audience is \[AUDIENCE]. Topics we own: \[TOPICS]. Words we never use: \[WORDS]."

**2. Day 2: find angles**

> "Find five timely topics we could post about this week, with why each one matters to our audience."

**3. Day 3: first drafts**

> "Draft a LinkedIn post on \[TOPIC] and an X version of the same idea."

Edit them and tell your manager what you changed.

**4. Day 4: plan the week**

> "Plan next week: three LinkedIn posts and one newsletter, around \[LAUNCH OR THEME]."

**5. Day 5: put it on a schedule**

> "Every Friday at 2pm, send me next week's content plan with first drafts."

> [!TIP]
>
> Feedback on real drafts teaches voice faster than any style guide. Say what felt off ("too salesy", "shorter hook") every time.

## Common pitfalls

* **Cross-posting the same text.** Ask for one idea adapted to each platform, not one post copied everywhere.
* **Claims you can't back up.** Your manager won't invent customer results or quotes. Share real numbers and testimonials when you want them used.
