The Content & Social Media Manager keeps your publishing steady. It researches timely topics, plans a weekly calendar, writes platform-native posts and newsletters, and treats every piece as a draft for your approval. You decide what, if anything, it may publish on its own.

Before you hire

This role works from conversation, so you can start without connecting anything. Add tools under Settings > Tools as you need them:

Skills it starts with

Your first week

1

Day 1: teach your voice

Share 3 to 5 posts or emails you’re proud of.
“This is how we sound. Our audience is [AUDIENCE]. Topics we own: [TOPICS]. Words we never use: [WORDS].”
2

Day 2: find angles

“Find five timely topics we could post about this week, with why each one matters to our audience.”
3

Day 3: first drafts

“Draft a LinkedIn post on [TOPIC] and an X version of the same idea.”
Edit them and tell your manager what you changed.
4

Day 4: plan the week

“Plan next week: three LinkedIn posts and one newsletter, around [LAUNCH OR THEME].”
5

Day 5: put it on a schedule

“Every Friday at 2pm, send me next week’s content plan with first drafts.”
Feedback on real drafts teaches voice faster than any style guide. Say what felt off (“too salesy”, “shorter hook”) every time.

Common pitfalls

  • Cross-posting the same text. Ask for one idea adapted to each platform, not one post copied everywhere.
  • Claims you can’t back up. Your manager won’t invent customer results or quotes. Share real numbers and testimonials when you want them used.
