Before you hire
Connect the accounts your assistant will work in under Settings > Tools:
Then hire the role and check both tools are turned on in the worker’s Tools section.
Skills it starts with
If you’ve connected both Gmail and Outlook, or both calendars, your assistant asks which one to use.
Your first week
1
Day 1: introduce yourself
Tell your assistant who you are and who matters.
“I’m the founder of [COMPANY]. My timezone is [TIMEZONE]. My most important contacts are [NAMES AND EMAILS]. I protect my mornings for focus work.”
2
Day 1: triage the inbox
“Triage my unread email and tell me what needs me today.”Answer the setup questions. Then correct the result (“newsletters from [SENDER] are FYI, not Action Needed”).
3
Day 2: draft replies
“Draft replies to the Action Needed emails. Don’t send anything. I’ll review.”Edit a few drafts and tell your assistant what you changed and why.
4
Day 3: schedule a meeting
“Find 30 minutes with [NAME] next week and propose three times.”
5
Day 4: brief me
“Send me tomorrow’s briefing at 7:30.”Check the format and tell your assistant what to add or cut.
6
Day 5: put it on a schedule
“Every weekday at 7:30, send me my briefing and a triage of overnight email. Every Friday at 4pm, review next week’s calendar.”
Common pitfalls
- Wrong account. If your assistant reads the wrong inbox or calendar, check which connection is selected in its Tools section.
- Unknown contacts. Your assistant can’t schedule with someone it can’t find. Tell it their email once and it remembers.
- Setup skipped on a schedule. A scheduled run can’t ask setup questions. Run each skill once in chat first.
