Gmail (read only)

Retrieves inbox messages and threads.
Gmail is split into two separate tools: Gmail (read only) for reading your inbox, and Gmail (send only) for sending emails. You can grant one or both to your workers.

What Your Workers Can Do

With Gmail (read only), your workers can monitor your inbox, search for specific messages, analyze email threads, and provide summaries—without the ability to send or modify anything. Popular use cases:
  • Daily inbox summaries and triage
  • Find specific emails or information
  • Monitor for urgent messages
  • Track email conversations
  • Extract action items from email threads

Authentication

Type: OAuth 2.0 Sign in with your Google account—Spinnable receives a secure access token (we never see your password).

Important Notes

Read-only means safe: Workers with this tool can only view your emails—they cannot send, delete, or modify anything. Perfect for monitoring and analysis tasks.
Best practices:
  • Use for inbox monitoring without sending risk
  • Great for summarization and research tasks
  • Workers use Gemini 2.5 Pro for analyzing email content
